Enrol in the 2019 Data Specialists in Policing CPD programme
In 2018, the N8PRP’s Data Analytics and Training and Learning strands delivered an ambitious Continuous Professional Development programme to a cohort of 33 participants from 11 North of England forces. Following on from this success, the N8 PRP will be running a second programme in 2019, seeking to make a practical step towards the digital transformation of policing by providing a foundation in essential data science methods and emergent technologies in machine learning and predictive analytics.

There are four places available to each force within the N8 PRP, three of these places are for force personnel and one place is reserved for staff from a partner agency (e.g. OPCC staff or Community Safety Partnership staff). The programme is inclusive and should attract participants from a variety of roles that involve the extraction, manipulation, analysis and reporting upon data and information. Previous participants have included strategic analysts, partnership analysts, data modellers, intelligence analysts and research co-ordinators.
Please note that participants are expected to attend all sessions, exceptionally a suitable stand-in can be nominated should this not be possible. Non attendance of any session by any participant may incur a charge.
Priority will be given to forces from the N8 PRP, however we welcome enquiries from any UK police force and may be able to offer a limited number of places on an ad hoc basis.
