Academics, police, and practitioners are all invited to a conference on digital policing – 6 June 2019 at Middleton Lodge, Near Darlington.

9.30-10am: Registration (tea/coffee and pastries)

10am: Welcome and housekeeping (Nicole Westmarland, Durham University)

10.15 am-11am: Neil Preston (Head of Communications and Engagement Department, Northumbria Police) – ‘The evolution of communications and engagement within Northumbria Police’.

11am: Coffee break

11.15am – 12 noon: Dave Sampson (Detective Constable in the Digital Investigations and Intelligence Unit, Durham Constabulary) – ‘Police Internet, Intelligence and Investigation Management – An overview’

12 noon – 12.30pm: Table discussion of the key challenges and opportunities raised by the morning sessions

12.30 – 1.30pm: Lunch

1.30 pm: Welcome back and information about the Staff Exchange/PGR Internship opportunities (Donna Marie Brown, Durham University)

1.45 – 2.45pm: Justin Partridge (ACO, North East Transformation Innovation and Collaboration) and Rebecca Chapman  (Supt. South Yorkshire Police) -‘Police, academia and business tackling crime’

2.45 – 3.30pm: Panel discussion of the key challenges and opportunities raised throughout the day
