Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to postpone this event. A new date will be decided upon once the situation has calmed.
N8 workshop: Combatting serious and organised crime, organised immigration crime, trafficking and modern day slavery from Vietnam.
This event will serve to build a connected network of police officers, law enforcement officers and civil servants, with the aim of sharing current and informed research and good practice on the experiences of the Vietnamese victimisation and criminality in the UK. It will provide an opportunity for key staff to network across agencies and share their experiences and knowledge in order to produce best practice guidance.
The event will be hosted by Dr Daniel Silverstone (Liverpool John Moores University) who has worked over the last ten years with the FCO, Home Office and the Independent Anti-slavery Commissioner researching this issue. It is supported by Chief Constable Andy Cooke, Merseyside Police and the N8 Policing Research Partnership.
Due to the sensitive nature of some of the discussions, this event is open to LE or Police officer/police staff only.
Eligibility will be confirmed at registration. Bookings are via Denise Cannon at LJMU – to reserve a place participants should email: D.J.Cannon@ljmu.ac.uk The event is free to attend, but places are limited.
